Miller index
Miller introduced the representation of a crystalline network through a system composed of reticular systems that are associated. The reticular planes are gathering of points/nodes to form parallel and equidistant planes, represented by three integer index which correspond to the intersection between the plan and the three axes of the crystal around the origin. The Miller indexes represent not only a plan but also all the plans that are parallel to the specified plan.
