Oscillating system

A physical system is called oscillator or oscillating system when q(t) periodically varies around a value qe and between two values q1 and q2 so that q1<qe<q2.

Formula

An oscillation, with any shape and a period T, repeats regularly over time for every t : q(t) = q(t+ T) where q is the state variable.
